How can I get compensate by a gas station which sold me bad gasoline?

I got gasoline from this independently-owned Citgo gas station and within a couple days my car is acting weird (shaking at the stop). So I took it to my dealership and the mechanic found out it was bad gas. I had to pay for the whole repair and now I am trying to get compensated. The gas station refused any responsibilty and said it wouldn't be them. They gave me the number of the company where they got the gas from. That company gave me the same answer. What are my options now?
Well, I do have my bank statement to prove I bought gas there and as a matter of fact, I got gas the last two times from there. So there can be no where else. Plus my mechanic gave me a sample of what's from my car.

Contact Citgo directly. They will work this issue from the top down. It's in their best interest to keep their customers happy.

Explain what happened factually. Let them know the station address, the info about the wholesaler they referred you to and results of those contacts. You may not get an immediate resolution, but you should get satisfaction.

I work for a major oil company and it doesn't happen often, but when this happens to us, we do everything we can to make the consumer whole again.

PS. Scott H has never heard of http://www.snopes.com. Chavez made his profit off Citgo gas long before it got to your local station. It's just as likely your local station's wholesaler buys gas from my company, since we all exchange on the wholesale market.
